> Navigational Commands Explained
Users are often confused by the different navigation commands
recorded by eValid. It is essential to know the basic difference
between each navigation command to aid in a better understanding
of how the script command structure is developed during a
recording session.
Understanding these navigational commands enables a user to hand
edit the navigation parts of the script to produce desired results
during script playback.
Below are the navigation commands recorded in eValid and a brief
description on how these commands are recorded:
(1) GotoLink: This command is the same as typing the URL you want
to visit in the address bar of the browser and pressing return
where you actually "Go to" the page without clicking on any
links from the previous page visited.
(2) FollowLink: A FollowLink command is recorded when the user
clicks on the link from within a page.
(3) WaitRedirect: A WaitRedirect is recorded when eValid detects
additional navigation away from the target page recorded from
the previous navigation command.
(4) Redirect: A Redirect command, essentially the same as a
WaitRedirect command is recorded instead of a GotoLink when an
additional navigation is detected by eValid.
