> Using eValid's Test Wizards
Since time is almost always the issue when it comes to testing
WebSites, it is a big convenience to automate as much testing as
possible.
Here at eValid, we develop enhancements for our tool to help make
testing your WebSite simpler, more effective, and time saving by
automating basic tasks such as Link Checking, Form Testing, and
Button Testing.
* Link Test Wizard: The Link Test Wizard aside from the SiteMap
feature of eValid basically does a Goto commands for every link
in the page. Then basically returns to the page where it
originated from.
(1) Navigate to a WebSite where you want to perform the Link
Test Wizard.
(2) Start a recording.
(3) From the eValid pull-down menu, select "eValid > Record
Mode> Wizards > Link Test Wizard" or by simply pressing
"Ctrl + Shift + L" to activate the test.
(4) eValid then prompts the user to select from three different
types of link tests. (See previous Tips & Tricks for
complete description on Link Test Wizard)
(5) As soon as the proper test is selected, eValid then gathers
all the links and runs the wizard on playback.
* Form Test Wizard: The Form Test Wizard is for pages where some
forms are involved. As the name describes, the wizard basically
tests all elements of form -- from text boxes to check boxes to
drop down lists to combo boxes and radio buttons. So if your
WebSite is form intensive, use eValid's Form test wizard to
effectively check your forms and save yourself precious time.
(1) Navigate to a popular WebSite where there are forms
available, such as registration pages.
(2) Start your recording.
(3) From the eValid pull-down menu, select "eValid > Record
Mode> Wizards > Form Test Wizard" or by simply pressing
"Ctrl + Shift + F" to activate the test.
(4) Stop your recording, and begin playback.
(5) As you will observe in your script, eValid automatically
fills in the entire form on playback!
* Button Test Wizard: The Button Test Wizard is a simple test to
see if the buttons on the page you are testing actually does
work! If you have a site which has quite a number of buttons
such as "Submit", "Search", "Find", etc. then this wizard is
perfect for you!
(1) Navigate to a popular site where there are quite a number of
buttons to be tested.
(2) Start your recording.
(3) From the eValid pull-down menu, select "eValid > Record
Mode> Wizards > Button Test Wizard" or by simply pressing
"Ctrl + Shift + B" to activate the test.
(4) Stop your recording, and begin playback.
(5) On playback eValid automatically tests all the buttons by
"Virtually" pressing it to see if it performs its intended
function.
