eValid Site Analysis
eValid achieves site analysis through use of a powerful built-in spidering engine that starts at a given page and systematically visits all of the pages link to and reachable from there. Along the way it applies various filters and reports problems or issues on a page-by-page basis. This example script focuses on slow loading pages, but there are many, many more options! eValid Site Analysis also creates a visual SiteMap of your site's entire tree, or searches for pages with a specific text content - to name a few capabilities.

Detailed Quick Steps
These steps perform a Site Analysis scan of a user-selected website using eValid's "Full Browser Mode" scan method. The scan proceeds to depth two starting from the page you choose. Along the way eValid creates reports, in real time showing slow loading pages and producing the Site Analysis Summary.

Note: This Quick Steps assumes you have the DEFAULT settings in place. If not then please Restore DEFAULTS.

  1. On eValid's face left click eValid: > Settings > Site Analysis Preferences to open the settings area.

  2. Then click on Site Analysis Preferences > Mode and Cache Control to open the Mode and Cache Control group.

  3. Click and change the Cache Control section by checking Never Use Cache during Site Analysis so eValid will download and render each component of the page for the most accurate result.

  4. Click on Save then OK to save settings into your windows registry and OK to exit settings.

  5. In the Age and Site Filters menu, check the Pages loading slower than 6000 msec option. Then click OK.

  6. On the eValid browser face left click eValid: > Site Analysis > Start Analysis or hit F3.

  7. Type your designated website's URL into the prompted modal window's Address bar, for example http://www.sfmoma.org.

  8. Click OK to load your website and proceed to re-arrange any eValid related viewing pop-up windows.

  9. Now both the dashboard and the eValid browser's (PLAY | RESUME button) becomes GREEN and ready to go.

  10. Click on the GREEN arrow to begin mapping your site.

  11. Upon COMPLETION or if you choose to STOP, an eValid Site Analysis - Reports window will pop-up allowing you to select the appropriate List/Map.

  12. Click OK to generate all checked Reports, each report's window may take a few seconds before viewing availability.
