This page explains the steps needed to validate the contents of a popup that results from a mouseover.

Here is an example area where a popup occurs when you mouseover the region:


 

Recording Process
To record the mouseover and validate the contents of the popup please follow test steps:

  1. Make Sure the Synchronization Window Delay is Long Enough...
    You need to make sure there is enough time in this setting:

  2. Start Recording...

  3. Turn "On" Element MouseOvers - Advanced Recording Mode/Options...

  4. Identify (Visually) the Drop Down Menu/Popup area you Wish to Validate...

  5. Choose Validate and Synchronize on Screen Rectangle [Ctrl+Q]

  6. -(AND/OR)- Choose Validate and Save of Screen Rectangle area of the BASELINE file...

  7. Steps 5. and 6. will Allow you to Select and Outline the Location of the Mouseover Popup LAYOUT to be Captured

  8. Stop Recording...

  9. The Resulting Originally Recorded Script File...

  10. PLAYBACK the Originally Recorded Script File to Generate a RESPONSE file...

  11. (POST) Manual ".evs" Script Editing Steps 12. and 13. to the Originally Recorded Command(s) Location and BASELINE file(s) Content

  12. Relocate the Validation Script Command(s) to Occur Just Before the Releasing Last Mouse Action...

  13. Modify the "checksum" Parameter to Match the PLAYBACK area Present Just Before the Releasing Last Click...

  14. Rename the RESPONSE file to the intended BASELINE file Containing the Validation Just Before the Mouseover Popup Disappears...
    [Please note the differences between Step 6. and the newly renamed .bmp!]
