Summary
This page describes common problems encountered with recording logins and achieving reliable playbacks.

An obvious indication of whether Advanced Recording Mode(s) should be considered or not (during recording) is based on the absence of corresponding script file commands generated. i.e. for every browser action taken, there must be an equivalent recorded/manually edited-in script file command.

• Persistent Cookies
  Delete cookies may simply fix this. Else you can try to edit out the no longer present typed-in field(s) or Re-Record and do not answer YES to any "remember the ..." prompts/requests.

• Session Cookies
  You may have to restart eValid each time to get a fresh non-logged-in eValid instance.

• HTML Login
  If any of the input fields are represented unsuccessfully by clicking on an image click, then you will need to apply "F11", Advanced Recording Mode with Absolute MouseClicks enabled during recording.

• Modal Dialog Login
  If any part of the login results with a modal window, then you will need to manually edit-in a sequence of: ModalDialogWait ... ModalDialogTab ... ModalDialogEnter ... combinations for the actions necessary, please see user manual for proper script command formats. For HTML modal pop-up variants, etc., it may be possible to apply Absolute MouseClicks(F11)+Record Desktop Window(Ctrl+F12) as an alternative recording sequence.

• Applet Dialog Login
  If any part of the login is based on applet functionalities, then you will need to apply "F11+F12", Advanced Recording Mode with Absolute MouseClicks and Application Mode enabled during recording, etc.

• Session Authentication
  You can simply click "OK" during recording to satisfy this request, assuming that eValid's Modal Pop-ups settings are enabled to Suppress such during playback. Else you will need to also include added script file commands to process such actions, i.e. when "OK" is not the defaulted and one needs to click on an alternative responses, i.e. the default is "No".

• Keyboard Input Text
  If your typed text for name and password are not present during playback and not found within the .evs script file, then you must retry with Advanced Recording Mode(s) enabled.

• Mouse Input
  If your mouse clicks are not generating an expected response during playback, then you must retry with Advanced Recording Mode(s) enabled.

• FLASH Controlled/embedded Login
  Since this is an opaque object and access in not obtainable through the normal DOM properties, apply Advanced Record Mode(s).

• Other Possibilities
  Please see if any of the below listed protocols generate the desired record/playback sequences:
  1. F11, Absolute MouseClicks Mode enabled only.
  2. F11+F12, Absolute MouseClicks and Application Mode enabled.
  3. (Ctrl+F12), Record Desktop Window enabled only.
  4. F11+(Ctrl+F11)+F12, Absolute MouseClicks and Absolute MouseOvers and Application Mode enabled.
  5. (Ctrl+F12)+F11, Record Desktop Window and Absolute MouseClicks Mode enabled only.
  6. F12, Application Mode enabled only.
  7. Advanced Recording Mode and ModalDialog...Script Commands edited-in.
  8. A sequence of ModalDialog...Script Commands added-in.
  9. A sequence of KeySys... and/or KeyText... Script Commands edited-in.
