Overview
This page provides support for issues concerning the Java/JRE engine. Several Java applets are used in eValid. If you have trouble in launching/running the 3D-SiteMap or the EventLog based Performance/Messge/Timing Charts this page should resolve the problem.

• Analysis of Popup Error Messages
  Look for the error message you see and follow the instructions to solve the problem.

  • If You See The Error Popup Shown Below
    This popup indicates that you have a problem with the underlying JRE, probably because you have an old eValid installation that does not have the properly signed *.jar files.

    

    ACTION: Update your eValid installation to the latest version.

  • If You See The Error Popup Shown Below
    This appear when the JRE is not present or the eValid browser does not recognize that Java is enabled in Windows 7 installations.

    

    ACTION: Install the current version of Java.

  • If You See The Error Popup Shown Below
    This popup appears when the JRE is corrupted or is not present in Windows 8/8.1.

    

    ACTION: Install or re-install the current version of Java.

  • If You See The Error Popup Shown Below
    This appears when you are running a version of eValid that is old (and asks for a Java JRE version that is not preset), or a current version of eValid that needs to have the current JRE installed.

    

    ACTION: Update your eValid installation to the latest version.
    AND/OR: Install or re-install the current version of Java.

    You will see this on Windows 8/8.1 when you have your Java security setting set above "Medium".

    This will appear in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 in eValid performance charts or timing charts when your Java security level is set above "Medium"

• Java Security Level Adjustments
  These charts show you how to adjust the security level on your machine to a level appropriate to what is needed by eValid.

  1. Open (Windows System) Control Panel
     Open the Windows 7 or Window 8/8.1 control panel, which should be similar to this image. Then click on the Java (32-bit) item.

     

  2. Find Java Control Panel
     Click on the "Security Tab" in the Java Control panel, as shown below:

     

  3. Tab in Security
     Change the Security level to Medium by moving the slider down in the display.

     

  4. Note: Upon restarting eValid's 3D-SiteMap link from Report
     This popup requests your permission to use the Java Jar files supplied with your installation of eValid. This happens in some cases even when the Java *.jar files are compiled with a valid security certificate. Click on "Allow" to permit your machine to access the JRE for the eValid applet.
