Absolute Events This section determines how eValid handles absolute events when making a recording.
Keyboard-driven Scrolling If this feature is chosen eValid records scrolling using the arrow keys on the keyboard. (Time-based methods of scrolling are not reliable and are not used.)
Absolute Left Clicks & Drags This option turns on the ability to record absolute left clicks and drags. Note: This option is always on for secondary window recording.
Time Left Clicks This option instructs eValid to record the time between clicks.
Absolute Right Clicks This option turns on absolute right click recording. Note: This option is always on for secondary window recording.
Absolute MouseOvers This option activates eValid's ability to record whenever the mouse hovers in one spot longer than a specified length of time.
MouseOver Pause (msec) "xxxx" This value determines how many milliseconds (msecs) must elapse before a mouseover is recorded.
Applet Recording These options affect how recording is done with Java Applets. These same options apply to all objects for which normal keyboard activity is unavailable.
MouseClick Events Activates eValid's ability to record mouse click events. This feature is normally ON.
MouseDown Events Activates eValid's ability to record mouse down events.
MouseDrag Events Activates eValid's ability to record mouse drag events.
MouseOver Events Activates eValid's ability to record mouseover events.
Text Field Entry Activates eValid's ability to record text field entries.
Tab Stops Activates eValid's ability to record tabs.
Navigation When activated this instructs eValid to note when a mouse click results in a navigation event. This feature is normally ON.
Application Mode Application mode is a method of recording within eValid that applies to regular Windows applications. Application mode is used when the other available recording methods do not work effectively.
Capture Mouse & Keyboard Events If selected, eValid will record application keyboard and mouse activity. Note: This option is always on for secondary window recording.
Synchronization This section deals with aspects of synchronization during playback.

Playback This section deals with aspects of synchronization during playback.
Draw Visible Outline If selected, eValid will briefly show you the outline of an area that is being scanned so that a checksum for it can be generated.

Retry Interval (msec) "xxxx" This value specifies the length of time between retries to synchronize a screen image.
Max. Retry Time (Msec) "xxxx" This values specifies the maximum time during wich synchronization is attempted. If this interval is exceeded the synchronization attempt is dropped, appropriate messages are written to the logfiles, and playback continues.
Keyboard These selections activate or de-activtate direct keyboard recording. Normally all of these options are on.
Enter/Return Key Activates eValid recording of the Enter/Record key.
Space Key Activates eValid recording of the Space bar.
Tab Key Activates eValid recording of the Tab key.
