Here is how to create a Link Check Test. Briefly, the link check test tries out a set of links off a WebPage to see if they are working or not. Failures are reported in the Error Messages file.

• Click on Window > Script Window
  Now you can see your recording as you create it.

• Click on Record > Start Recording.
  This starts your recording.

• Now, use the browser to go to the page where you want to do the link checking.

• Click on Record > Wizards > Link Test Wizard.
  This will generate a link from the current page to every other referenced link on the page, including all links to anchors on the page.

• You can repeat this process for all those pages where you wish to check the validity of links.

• Click on Record > Stop Recording.
  This ends your recording.

• Click on Playback > Start Playback.
  Watch the sequence of screens go by, and be satisfied that the script has done what you expected.

• Click on Window > Logs > Error Log.
  This will let you see the file of error messages your LinkCheck test may generate.

  If you need to, use the Edit capability to change your script file.
