[Back to Summary of Practical Applications]

Introduction

The Browser Email Confirmation Test confirms that a portal based Email account operates successfully.

Recording The Test

Start the test by picking a portal site where you can access your email account for your test. For this example we will use Yahoo! Mail at http://mail.yahoo.com

Start recording by selecting Record > Start Recording, and then login to the account.

Then send yourself an Email.

Check the Email that you just sent in your "Inbox" window. Validate the text that confirms that you have received the email by    pressing Ctrl + T.

Download the completed script file yahoo.script.evs

Typical Playback

Click Playback > Start Playback to begin the playback process.

When the play back has completed, click Window > Logs > Event Log to see the outputs of the event activity.

Here is an example of an event.log file for a Browser Email Confirmation test.

Lessons Learned

eValid can confirm continual operation of an Email account by validating against the number of emails contained in the mailbox prior to testing.
